The School of the Arts is committed to bringing
the arts into the lives of children and adults throughout the
East End of Long Island.
The School of the Arts is located in the historic
Benjamin House at 141 East Main Street in downtown Riverhead.

The school is the region's only community
school of the arts.
It offers a variety of lessons and classes
in music, visual arts, and theater.
It also offers summer arts camps for children
and adults.
Recently added is a brand new, state-of-the-art
recording studio.
The school is a member of the National Guild
of Community Schools of the Arts and the New York Multi-Arts
Centers Consortium.

The School of the Arts follows most East End
school district calendars. Fall semester runs from September through
January. Spring semester runs from February through mid June.
Summer session is 7 weeks, during July and August. In the event
of inclement weather call the school at (631) 369-2171 for information
regarding closing and class cancellation.
Please note: The EEAC School of the
Arts typically follows the same schedule as the Riverhead Public
School District for school holidays and closings.
To facilitate access to the arts for everyone,
course fees are kept reasonable. In addition, tuition assistance
is available to dedicated students with limited ability.
Private Music Instruction
Music lessons for voice, piano, guitar and
most band and orchestra instruments. Private lessons are offered
at all levels for children and adults. Twice-yearly student recitals
are scheduled at the end of fall and spring semesters. Students
also have the opportunity to perform at the Arts Council Gallery
openings. Lessons for the 2008 fall semester begin Monday, September
8 and are available Monday through Saturday. Please call the school
to discuss choosing a teacher and to select your preferred day
and time.

Private Instruction Tuition (16-week semester)
30 minute lesson: $464 member EEAC/$488 nonmember
45 minute lesson: $696 member EEAC/$732 nonmember

Wednesday and Saturday lessons run on a 15-week semester; fees
are adjusted accordingly. Families with more than one student
enrolled will receive a 10% discount of an equal or lesser tuition
for each additional student. Payment plan options are available
with an additional installment fee.
Scholarship Opportunities based on financial need are available
for private lessons and group classes in all disciplines. Applications
are available upon request and must be submitted along with the
required documentation.
Scholarships for music are made possible by the New York State
Council on the Arts, the Town of Southampton and by private donors.
