Phenomenal Physics 4EC Edutainment event

On Saturday, April 18, at 1:00pm at Cutchogue East Elementary School Gym, the East End Education Coalition (4EC) will present Phenomenal Physics.

“This humorous and exciting performance will encourage curiosity and critical thinking, using circus tricks, magic tricks, and audience participation to present kid-friendly demonstrations of scientific principles. Using his circus skills, Mr. Fish excites children about the fascinating world of science with amazing tricks involving bubbles, balloons, bull whips, and eggs.”

The event is free and open to the public.

4EC was founded in December 2004 to supplement children’s school education on the East End. The mission of the 4EC is to pool monetary and human resources in support of education enrichment programs. The coalition pursues programming in all categories, including math, science, technology, fine arts, performing arts, sports, career planning, and more. Community Garden Plots Available at Hallockville Museum Farm

Applications are now available for 2009 plots in the Hallockville Community Garden.  This is the third year for this program that enables community members to re-connect with their agricultural roots by tending to individual 400-square-foot plots.

Jim Romansky, a Hallockville Board member and coordinator for the Community Garden project says, “Growing your own vegetables and being able to reap the fruits is a dream for many people, but not everyone has the land to do this.” And not everybody knows how! The community garden is a great resource for people who live in apartments, townhouses, or who just want to share their love of gardening in a group setting.

To obtain additional information and application forms, contact Jim Romansky at 631-779-3141 or the Hallockville office at 631-298-5292.
