On Tuesday, February 23rd from 10AM – 12 noon, the Ecumenical Nursery School (ENS) will hold an open house at both its Mattituck and Southold locations. The school will explain its program, give tours of its facilities, and introduce its teachers.

ENS has been offering morning and afternoon classes for three and four year olds for 40 years (since 1970). The schools are currently accepting applications for the 2010-2011 school year. Enrollment applications will be available for those interested. Class size is limited, so parents are encouraged to fill out and return an application for their child(ren) as soon as possible. All applications must be received by 10:30 am on March 6, 2010 in order to be included in the placement process; after that applications are processed on a first-come-first-serve basis.

ENS Mattituck is located in the Advent Lutheran Church at 200 Legion Avenue. The Southold center is located in the Southold Presbyterian Church on the Main Road. Anyone unable to attend the open house but wishing to receive more information please call Patti Goodale at 298-1313.

Lyrical Children announces new North Fork locations for its Music Together® program starting this Fall. Classes will now be offered in Southold at the North Fork Fun-n-Fitness facility and on the border of Riverhead & Aquebogue at the Living Water Gospel Church.  This is in addition to the classes that are offered through Riverhead Town in Jamesport.  Free demo classes are scheduled during the week of September 14th.

In addition to its Nursery and Pre K Readiness classes for ages 2 thru 5 years, Lyrical Children’s Preschool will be offering some new afternoon classes:

• An Art Exploration class will be offered on Tuesday afternoons from 1:30 to 2:30 for ages 2 ½ to 4.  This class is designed to expose your child to various sensory experiences while allowing them to explore and discover their own inner artist.
• A Handwriting without Tears® class will be offered on Thursday afternoons from 1:30 – 3:00 for Pre K children.  This award winning multi-sensory approach will aid your Pre K child by developing their self confidence with regard to letter formation and beginning writing skills.  A fun and engaging curriculum that incorporates music and manipulatives gives your child the proper foundation for entering Kindergarten.
• Break Time Club – Parents, do you need a BREAK sometimes?  Join the club and arrange for your child to spend some quality, creative time with us while you shop, go to an appointment or whatever you need to do!!  This is available all afternoons between 12:15 – 3:00.

On Saturday, February 7 from 11:00am – 3:00pm, there will be an open house at Lyrical Children’s Preschool on Route 25 in Calverton Commons.

Parents are invited to visit with their child to find out about programs for children ages 2 to 5 yrs.  Registration is in progress for Fall 2009 – Nursery Classes (ages 2 ½ – 3 yrs) 2, 3 or 5 days (AM or PM) / Two year old class (T / Th AM) / Pre K Readiness class (ages 4 – 5 yrs) 3 or 5 days (AM or PM).  Lyrical Children is a Creative Arts based Child centered program and its curriculum includes Handwriting without Tears® and Music Together®.

Lyrical Children’s Preschool in Calverton begins registration for the 2009-2010 school year in January. Its ½ day programs serve children ages 2 through 5 yrs. The program is a creative arts, child-centered program with both nursery and pre-K readiness classes.  The preschool program includes both Music Together® and Handwriting Without Tears®.The school also announces that it has limited openings in its present classes; and registration is ongoing for the afternoon Separation class (15 week program) which starts in February on Tuesdays from 1:30 – 3:00.; registration is also ongoing for the Handwriting Without Tears® enrichment class for pre-K children (15 week session) which starts in February on Thursdays from 1:30 – 3:00.
